Crackle Plus is one of the largest ad-supported streaming services (AVOD) and offers a variety of movies and TV shows incl. original programming.
The Crackle Roku Channel was originally launched in 2011 and had established a substantial user base over time. However, it had also struggled with several issues such as an outdated design, limited content selection, and a subpar user experience.
To meet the changing demands and expectations of viewers and to remain competitive in a crowded streaming market, we were engaged to completely overhaul the application. The goal was to enhance the accessibility and discoverability of content and ensure a smooth and enjoyable viewing experience for the audience.
The updated application features a modern, user-friendly design and improved navigation, making it easier for users to find and watch their favorite content. This is achieved with improved search capabilities and enhancements to the catalog browsing experience to decrease scrolling fatigue. The application also allows users to create and manage their own watchlists, making it easy to keep track of their favorite shows and movies.
The results of the relaunch have been impressive so far. Video start times have improved by 42%, leading to a significant increase in viewership of 40%. Additionally, the platform has seen a remarkable decrease in ad exits, with a 200% reduction. These improvements have greatly enhanced the viewing experience for users and have solidified Crackle Plus as a leading player in the streaming industry.
